"Book of Life" explores life itself and different aspects of it from a composer's point of view. For example biological processes, such as protein synthesis or trafficking, undergo random fluctuations — 'noise' — that are often detrimental to reliable information transfer, but can also constitute opportunities for more efficient cellular computations. I took the idea of randomness and noise and composed the piece "Biological Noise" for electric guitar and live electronics.

All the pieces of this work are notated using Musical Motion Graphics. This kind of music notation consist of video scores featuring animated abstract graphics. The performers watch those scores and transform visual parameters into sonic ones. During a live performance, the musicians and the audience watch the scores. This album only features the music.

The small thumbnails/images of the pieces are parts of still images from the Musical Motion Graphics.
